
The Department of Interventional Radiology held a workshop on digestive disease interventions in the Skills Acquisition & Innovation Lab (SAIL) on October 21. Twenty medical students attended.

The hands-on program allowed participants to simulate procedures that are performed throughout the digestive tract, including liver embolization, gastrostomy tube placement and image-guided biopsy.

Course directors were Dr. David Madoff, professor of radiology; Dr. Benjamin May, assistant professor of radiology; Dr. Bradley B. Pua, assistant professor of clinical radiology; and Dr. Ronald S. Winokur, assistant professor of radiology.
