Residency Support Council Hosts Family Simulation Day

For a few tense moments, onlookers in the Skills Acquisition and Innovation Laboratory (SAIL) watched the monitors as a routine appendectomy took a turn for the worse. The patient, a lifelike manikin, was having an anaphylactic reaction to a medication. Plastic Surgery Residents Focus on Cranio-Maxillofacial Procedures

Ten surgery residents attended a workshop focused on cranio-maxillofacial procedures in the Skills Acquisition and Innovation Lab (SAIL) on November 6. 

The residents practised using power drills to plate and screw all aspects of a synthetic skull. The workshop was run by the Department of Surgery's division of plastic surgery with support from orthopedic companies who provided the synthetic device. 

 

Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Presents Big Apple Bootcamp

More than two dozen participants from across the East Coast gathered for three days of learning at the Big Apple Bootcamp, held September 7-9 in the Skills Acquisition & Innovation Lab (SAIL). Presented by the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, the program was designed to give participants the knowledge and technical skills needed to be successful vascular fellows or residents.
